The 'Riihitie Plant Pot' was designed by Aino Aalto and presented at the Paris World Fair in 1937 with the Artek presentation, but never produced in series. The pots, however, were used by Aino on the terrace of her house on Riihitie Road in Helsinki, a place that gave them their name. Today the house serves as a museum where visitors can see Aalto's design philosophy and where the pots still find their place. And best of all: Artek now produces the plant pots in the original shape designed by Aino Aalto and we can all finally enjoy it!
The pots are made of glazed, handmade ceramic and are available in several colours. They are only intended for indoor use and are ideal for herbs in the kitchen or for other plants and cult objects for design connoisseurs!
