Table Solvay by Jean Prouvé

❤️ YOUR GIFT ❤️ Vitra Toolbox with a Vitra purchase >500 CHF

During 1941 and 1942, the Ateliers Jean Prouvé planned and realized various furnishing projects for the chemical company Solvay. Against this background, among many other designs, a wooden table was created that is almost exemplary of Prouvé's constructions: The necessities of statics and the course of forces can be clearly read in its constructive details - similar to the later EM Table, which differs from 'Solvay' by its metal table legs.

Because metal was in short supply at the time of this table's creation due to the Second World War, its legs were constructed from wood.

The solid woods give the 'Solvay Table' a high-end, homey look and put the technical coolness of the design into perspective.

Choose from 5 different lengths to suit you. The tabletop of the 'Solvay' is available in 3 different materials.
