Kaari' is the result of the first collaboration between the Finnish design house Artek and the French designer brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. And I must say, I am quite fascinated by the extraordinary tables.
Its light and flowing contour, which could have been drawn with a single line, is probably the most impressive element of the design. It is actually a steel band and runs from the underside of the table via the leg into the four feet, which playfully absorb the weight of the table. The central leg is made of solid oak wood and forms the centre of gravity of the tabletop.
Kaari' means 'bow' in Finnish and probably refers to the four projecting feet.
The small table is the ideal place for me to enjoy breakfast in the kitchen in the morning.
