'Kaari' is the result of the first collaboration between the Finnish design house Artek and the French designer brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. And I must say, I am quite fascinated by the extraordinary tables.
Its light and flowing contour, which could have been drawn with a single line, is probably the most impressive element of the design. It is actually a steel band and runs from the underside of the table over the legs into two feet, which playfully absorb the weight of the table. The two legs are made of solid oak wood and form the support of the tabletop.
'Kaari' means 'bow' in Finnish and probably refers to the four projecting feet.
