The Beni-Ourain carpet owes its name to the Berber tribe of the same name, which is native to the northeastern foothills of the Middle to High Atlas Mountains.
The production of the carpets is there traditionally incumbent on the women of the tribe and requires not only manual dexterity and skill, but above all perseverance, because this often takes several months.
Although there are now fancy, colorful versions of the Beni Ourain, the color scheme of the classic is kept in the natural colors of the sheep and ranges from light beige tones to elfin white, with black, gray or brown elements. Another characteristic feature of a Beni-Ourain rug is its geometric pattern - often in the form of diamonds or zigzag lines.
Thanks to its restrained and timeless design, a Beni-Ourain carpet fits into any room concept and is thus an excellent choice for bedrooms, living rooms, children's rooms, hallways or offices.
