Kaari' is the result of the first collaboration between the Finnish design house Artek and the French designer brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. And I have to say, I am quite fascinated by the convertible wall shelves.
The console is ideal as a shelf or small work surface. Its depth is just big enough to sit comfortably on it with a laptop or drink the breakfast espresso. Depending on the height at which you mount the console, you can have everything from a low side shelf to a high table in the kitchen that your design heart desires.
The principle of 'Kaari' is essentially supported by curved steel straps and solid oak slats. The shelves, which are provided with a linoleum surface, rest on and on them.
By the way, the term Kaari means bow in Finnish, which probably refers to the steel bands.
