Sometimes the best solution is the simplest. Castiglioni knew this.
In 1957, he designed the Libreria with a single question in mind: how far can a bookshelf be reduced to its absolute minimum? The answer: two ropes, a single point on the wall, knots as supports. That's it.
No screws, no brackets, no frills. The shelves simply hang - elegant, floating, almost a little unbelievable. Bernini put the shelf into production in 1966 and nothing has really changed since then. And why should it?
Over 50 years later, the Libreria is just as relevant, just as elegant, just as unmistakably Castiglioni as it was on the first day.
Some things are simply right from the start.
