The shelf system S3 was created at the request of the Pope, so to speak - well, maybe not by him personally, but at least by the Vatican Museums. Due to the distance, the German-based designer Klemens Grund had the idea to create a simple, timeless and elegant shelf, but also one that can be assembled modularly.
A high degree of structure and clarity was his demand for good furniture, so he built the shelf according to a grid. With verticals and horizontals. The choice of wood in the horizontal plane was a conscious decision to bring calm into the room. It is complemented by the chromed verticals.
The shelf is infinitely extendable in length and height. Pick your favorite.
By the way, the 'S3' has meanwhile acquired the nickname 'Papstregal'.
