Bibibibi table lamp from Ingo Maurer

Ingo Maurer originally designed the Bibibibi as a wedding gift for a couple he was friends with. The legs came from a plastic stork he had seen at Woolworths. However, the storks were sold out and only a few legs without the upper body remained. The sales clerk didn't want to sell the incomplete product, so he kidnapped the stork legs, and because the new table lamp, actually a one-off, was so well received, Ingo Maurer then had a limited and numbered series produced before the Bibibibi became a full member of the collection and has been available for over 30 years. The white porcelain plate reflects the light without glare and can also be used as a tray for small but important objects.
