The components of "Chapeaux", a table lamp designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for direct and diffuse lighting, have been reduced to a minimum. It consists of three diffusers - which differ in shape, material and surface - arranged freely on a transparent glass body. This glass body carries the light source: an opal polycarbonate glass sphere that contains technical lighting components and appears to float inside the glass. A small brushed aluminum rod at the top serves as a touch dimmer that allows adjustment in three levels. When operated via a wall switch, it saves the last dimming level selected. In the M version, the diffuser is made of steel and has a glossy white coating on the inside to increase the reflection of light onto the table top.
