In 1971 Panton designed the 'Panthella'. The organic shapes of this lamp are still very popular today. Panton wanted to create a lamp in which the base and shade serve as a reflector.
The versions with metal shade radiate the light downwards. The white lacquered inside of the shade and the reflection of light from the trumpet-shaped stand create a cozy illumination.
