The components of the Chapeaux table lamp for direct and diffuse light, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, have been reduced to a minimum. It consists of three diffusers - differing in shape, material and surface - which are placed freely on a transparent glass body. This glass body carries the light source: an opal polycarbonate ampoule with technical lighting components that appears to float in the glass. A small brushed aluminum rod on the top serves as a touch dimmer with which three levels can be set. The last dimmer setting is saved when the luminaire is activated via a wall switch. In the M version, the diffuser is made of steel and is painted glossy white on the inside to enhance the light reflection on the table top.
