Joe Colombo was ahead of his time. Not a little - but way ahead. The Italian designer dreamed of furniture as machines for life. Flexible, functional, designed for everyone. And he was not afraid of new materials or technologies if they served his purpose.
In 1965, he designed three lamps based on the same basic shape. One of them: the Domo.
Colombo loved curved shapes. Sharp edges and straight lines? Not his thing. He preferred soft curves, organic silhouettes - shapes that feel natural and yet appear futuristic. The Domo bears this unmistakable signature.
It is not a simple lighting object. It is a small piece of design history that has lost none of its energy to this day. Timelessly futuristic, if you like.
An object that illuminates and tells a story at the same time.
