Inspired by the idea of chance, the uncontrolled formation of a falling cable, the Signature lamp by Ingo Maurer stands in the room like a three-dimensional drawing. The combination of a soft cable with a springy, circular structure in plain black, connected by small clips, creates the impression of a random, continuous form when viewed. At the end of this construction is an elegant, deliberately unobtrusive shade that does not steal the show from the tangle of cables. It blends stylishly into the overall concept of the Signature without being obtrusive. A change of perspective also changes the perception of the shade's shape: from a cone to a slanted rectangle. The shade is made of anodized aluminium and its asymmetry and ambiguity underlines the casual look of the new pendant light from Ingo Maurer and provides directional light with a GU10 bulb.
