Today I would like to introduce you to a wonderfully sculptural pendant lamp in modern Swedish design. The 'Bubble' lamp by uber-design studio Hay was designed back in the 1940s by visionary George Nelson - and marked a turning point in the modernist lighting industry.
The lamp is part of a large family made of lacquered steel with a shade made of plastic polymer - reminiscent of its inspiration. Nelson's creations were inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish pendant lights. The pendant light is designed to float delicately above the room, lending it charm and personality.
