The company was founded in Burgundy in 1908 by Xavier Pauchard, who was nicknamed Mr. X. The company's name is Tolix. When 'Tolix' ran into financial difficulties in 2004, a woman took the helm: Chantal Andriot, a trained accountant, led 'Tolix' back to success with only 20 employees. She modernized the production system and gave the brand a second chance, relying on two new designers. The collection was renewed from scratch, keeping the spirit of past successes, including the famous 'Chaise A'.
Today, not only in cafes, parks, universities and millions of private homes can be found the iconic steel furniture in all colors of the rainbow. The creations of 'Tolix' have long since also arrived at the 'MoMa' in New York, the 'Centre Georges Pompidou' in Paris and the Vitra Design Museum.
