Lauenförde lies on the curving banks of the Weser. For over 40 years, the avant-garde of design has been coming and going in this town of around 3,000 inhabitants: Whether the British architect couple Smithson, the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Jean Prouvé or Ati Gropius, the daughter of the Bauhaus founder.
