Jonathan Lawes is an artist and printmaker based in southeast London. He creates prints with a distinct graphic feel, reflecting his penchant for geometry, shapes and patterns. He has a keen eye for nuance and layering and pays close attention to color and detail.
His loose and organic way of working produces abstract compositions that result from his enthusiasm for the screen printing process and its evolution.
The design of the 'Haru' bedding comes from a mural he created using large rolls of colored masking tape. The process he used was very similar to screen printing, layering individual colors and shapes to add a sense of depth to a flat surface.
