Eames House Bird

You've all seen this bird before, I'm pretty sure! A real classic, which I've got up my sleeve for you today!

Charles and Ray Eames enriched the collage in their Eames House with numerous objects and accessories they brought back from their travels. For over fifty years, a bird figure made of black wood has been standing on the floor in the center of the living room - obviously a piece of American folk art particularly appreciated by Charles and Ray, which they often used as an accessory in their photographs.

The bird originally comes from the mountainous region of the Appalachian Mountains in the northeast of the USA. Vitra' is producing the figure in series, based on the original and in collaboration with the Eames family.

The small house bird made of solid alder wood looks like real birds and is an easy-care pet, which purists and animal lovers alike should enjoy.
