With the Surprising Lounger, 'Fermob' and designer Harald Guggenbichler have reinterpreted the classic club chair. The result is a light, wiry armchair for indoor and outdoor use that comes complete with a comfortable foot rest.
The elegant and modern Surprising Lounger consists of steel wire and laser-cut sheet steel. The design only hints at the classic club chair shape, but otherwise has little in common with the heavy comrade. It is so beautifully light that I can carry it easily to where the sun is and I want to have my rest.
It's also great that the foot rest can be used individually as a stool, and if I don't need it, I can simply slide it under the armchair and stow it there to save space.
