Rio R50 armchair from Emu

RIO R50 is a complete seating collection consisting of chairs with and without armrests for the dining area, a lounge chair (also available in a rocking chair version), a stool and a low coffee table. The frame of the RIO R50 collection is made of ASFORM tubular steel, a high quality steel with excellent mechanical properties that can withstand heavy loads. The bending of the tubular steel gives the chair its characteristic "R" shape where the backrest and seat meet. All structural welds are MIG welded, which gives the chair greater strength and reduces rusting. The steel grid of the seat is joined to the frame by electrofusion welding, as this process allows for greater precision. Like all other EMU products made of steel, the elements of the RioR50 collection are first subjected to a cathodic dip-paint coating and then to a thermosetting powder coating: the result is an even, reliably adherent and hard-wearing finish. Nylon caps protect the chair feet and allow easy repositioning.
