Joe Colombo was someone who saw sculpture in even the most mundane things. The Italian architect and designer worked with shapes, light and silhouettes and had a special talent for turning functional objects into small works of art.
The Clessidra vase is a wonderful example of this. As early as 1969, Colombo sketched a series of glass objects based on geometric shapes - versatile, timeless, well thought-out. The Clessidra was one of them. Tall, slender, elegant and to this day not a bit out of date.
What makes it so special: the vase literally lifts its flowers into the air. The container rises gracefully from the light base and gives the flowers a stage. It's not just a simple display - it's a real showpiece.
On your table, your shelf, your windowsill. The Clessidra cuts a fine figure anywhere - with or without flowers.
