Like a little mushroom looks the lamp Pao, which I discovered at 'Hay'.
The lamp collection is an exciting collaboration between 'Hay' and Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. Named after the soft, luminous shape of traditional Mongolian Pao tents, 'Pao' draws on Fukasawa's aesthetic of beautiful simplicity to create an everyday object that draws on the design values of the natural world. By keeping the aesthetic modest and simple, he brings the design into harmony with its surroundings.
Both the base and the shade of the lamp are made of durable polycarbonate with a smooth, high-gloss finish. The lamp's bulb is hidden inside the shade behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser that creates an efficient, diffused downlight with a warm, homey glow.
Thanks to its mobility and deliberately simple design, 'Pao' is suitable for many different spaces and settings. Let there be light!
