For a long time they were lost and only available on the limited second-hand market. And although the beautiful vintage models have their charm, I'm as happy as a honey-cake horse that they are now finally available again in mint condition: the famous 'Side Chairs' by Charles and Ray Eames in fiberglass.
The chairs with the uniquely beautiful, solid-colored, fiberglass-reinforced polyester shell are an eye-catcher in the room and, of course, a great design classic in furniture history.
In the Dining Height Side Chair Wood Base (DSW), Charles and Ray Eames combined the organic seat shell with a four-legged wooden base. The combination of plastic and wood gives the classic a certain warmth, a particularly homely touch.
Especially the great nuances of the fiberglass series have already inspired me in the design books. Now I finally get to choose my favourite: Sea Foam Green.
