Stapel', a 1949 design by 'Horgenglarus', anticipated the formal world of the 1950s with its new, free attitude to life.
With its characteristic kidney shape, 'Stapel' contrasts with the Heimat style that was widespread in Switzerland at the time. The name of the robust chair says it all, because the solid wooden chair can be stacked perfectly.
Incidentally, its manufacture is particularly complex, as the rear legs are turned to different diameters before being bent. Both front and rear legs are also used in the 'Kreuzzargenstuhl' by Max Bill, which came onto the market two years later.
You can choose from four different types of wood for the Stapel chair. You can also equip the chair with a matching upholstery for extra comfort.
