The 'Organic Chair', a joint design by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen, looks like a flower on which you gently take a seat. It was created in 1940 as an entry for the 'Organic Design in Home Furnishings' competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The small reading chair, which is extremely comfortable thanks to its comfortably upholstered and organically shaped shell, is available in a wide range of fabrics and colors, all of which provide plenty of style and possibilities in your home or in public projects. You can choose between light or black wood for the base.
The shape of the shell is perfectly modeled on the seating needs of the human body. Here, the user sits in a slightly lower position, leaning backwards - perfect for a reading chair. The organic shape combined with the comfortable upholstery ensures excellent seating comfort.
Vitra manufactures the chairs in the Organic range from ash wood with a polyurethane foam padding. The high-quality cover ensures that the designer seating is robust and durable.
