This elegant bentwood classic is a masterpiece in construction and manufacturing: the cantilevered bracket, which forms the back and armrest at the same time, is bent into its shape in one piece from solid beech wood.
Like the original model of the bentwood chairs, - model no. 214 - the 209 also consists of only six parts. Due to its aesthetic reduction in combination with its organic form, it almost looks like a sculpture.
The Swiss architect Le Corbusier was enthusiastic about it and used the chair in many of his buildings. This was also the case in 1927 in the Weißenhof housing estate in Stuttgart. He acknowledged that this chair 'possesses nobility'.
The number 209 is produced in Frankenberg. And stained in a variety of colours.
The seat comes in the typical, filigree cane weave.
