First produced in 1876, the No. 18 model with the distinctive 'hairpin' in the back returns to the 'Thonet' portfolio in a clear and reduced aesthetic as the 218.
The No. 18 was one of the best-selling models in production. The so-called 'export chair' by the Thonet brothers was in fact often sold for use in restaurants and cafés, - especially to South America. 36 chairs fit disassembled into individual parts in a sea chest: Thus, the chair could be sent on long journeys without any problems and in large numbers.
Now model no. 18 - now under the name 218 - is being produced again in Frankenberg and is just waiting to take its place at your dining table.
