A furniture design by Marie Michielssen always begins with a series of sketches on paper. She develops the volumes with mathematical precision and ensures that the proportions are perfectly matched to the human body. For the Valerie lounge chair, she started with an elliptical base to which she added two rectangular surfaces - seat and backrest at an ideal angle to ensure a high level of seating comfort.
Marie opted for lacquered steel so that Valerie can be used both indoors and outdoors. She also appreciates steel as an honest, almost raw material - according to the principle: what you see is what you get. The optional seat cushion provides additional comfort. The fabric is hand-woven, made in Belgium and was chosen by Marie for its special feel. Valerie is available in four colors: black, white, grey or deep green. The matching cushions are available in white or gray.
